Description of the games

Mammut

Another day, another mammoth hunt. But the spoils of the hunt remains to be divided, and everyone tries to secure the largest share for themselves in this quick and clever family strategy game. Each round the tiles are shuffled in the bag and dropped onto the table. The face up symbols show the spoils of today's hunt.

The tiles are then divided by a unique mechanic: When it is your turn, you may either A) Take any number of tiles from the pool, or B) Claim that another player has been too greedy, taking all of that player's tiles, but returning at least one tile to the pool (you must of course show yourself to be a little less greedy).

The next player without tiles then follows in turn. This way the size of the pool will gradually increase, and the round is over once the last player without tiles decides to take what's left in the pool. Every player will then have a share of tiles, and a scoring phase follows.

Tactical play will help you get the meat, fur, tusks, animals, and tools you want (each tile has a different way of scoring), but you may also play cards for immediate effects or to secretly influence the scoring.

Escape: The Curse of the Temple

Escape: The Curse of the Temple is a cooperative game in which players must escape from a temple which is cursed, before the temple collapses and kills the explorers, thereby causing everyone to lose. Escape is played in real-time, with all players rolling dice and taking actions simultaneously. You must roll the right symbols to enter a room, and if you're at an open doorway, you can roll to reveal the next tile in the stack and add it to that doorway. Some rooms contain combinations of red and blue symbols, and if you (possibly working with other players in the same room) roll enough red or blue symbols, you "discover" magic gems, moving them from a separate gem depot onto that tile.

Last Bastion

Last Bastion is a cooperative game. The players struggle together against the game: either they all win or they all lose. Together, the heroes attempt to defend the Bastion, which is besieged by the armies of the Baleful Queen! They'll have to resist the relentless assaults of the Horde, prevent the Grasp of Evil from spreading, and slay the Warlord to hope to win the game!

Resist the assaults of the Horde. Enemies attack the Bastion from all sides! Enemies attack the Bastion from all sides! Place the Monster cards on the colored boards as they appear, apply their effects during the Horde phase, and hold fast! Greenskins, demons, undead: you'll be spared nothing!

Use the resources of the Bastion. Protected by the 4 Wall tiles, the 9 Bastion tiles represent your best resources to win! Protected by the 4 Wall tiles, the 9 Bastion tiles represent your best resources to win! Make the most out of their powers: the inn, market, divine fountain, and Dwarven quarry, each location offers you new possibilities! But beware the Grasp of Evil, which threatens to ravage the Bastion from within.

Organize yourselves and fight the monsters to the last! Plan your movement, optimize your action, and carefully use your characters' special powers to push back the monsters during the Hero phase! Annihilate the ranks of this infernal army until the arrival of the Warlord: will you manage to vanquish them and come out victorious from this ultimate battle?

Santiago de Cuba

Welcome to Santiago, the second largest city in Cuba, home of legendary rum and birthplace of the revolution! The chaotic streets hum with the sounds of bustling crowds and busy commerce. Cargo ships constantly arrive and depart from the port. Demand is continuous, if unpredictable, for a supply of local products such as exotic fruits, sugar, rum, tobacco, and cigars. In Santiago de Cuba, your business card says "broker", but in reality, you're a shady wheeler-dealer who arranges deals with the locals and with corruptible officials to move goods and meet the demand of those ever-present cargo ships – and your ability to procure these goods is only as reliable as your "connections". Each game poses new tactical challenges for the players, thanks to ever-changing combinations of buildings, Cuban inhabitants, and demand for goods.

Azul

Azul captures the beautiful aesthetics of Moorish art in a contemporary board game.

Players compete as artisans decorating the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora.

By carefully drafting the correct quantity and style of tiles, the most clever of artisans plan ahead to maximize the beauty of their work (not to mention their scores!) while ensuring they wasted no supplies in the process.

Introduced by the Moors, “azulejos” (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were fully embraced by the Portuguese.

This happened when their King Manuel I, on a visit to the Alhambra palace in Southern Spain, was mesmerized by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorative tiles. The king, awestruck by the interior beauty of the Alhambra, immediately ordered that his own palace in Portugal be decorated with similar wall tiles. Azul is a tile-placement game in which players compete for the highest score by claiming tiles and arranging them on their board to score points.

Extra points are on offer for collecting sets of the same colour of tile, or for creating particular patterns, while there are penalties for taking tiles that you're unable to use.

But every tile that you claim affects what your rivals can take next. You'll have to make choices that help you without helping them too much!
